چکیده

Abstract We analyzed the characteristics of main karstic/non-karst reaches Lijiang River to uncover causes behind different flood behaviors by providing a better understanding formation. Having 63 years rainfall-runoff data and applying HEC-HMS model, geo/hydrological features were investigated. The available reservoir capacity karts (ARCK) was included through soil moisture accounting loss assess its impact. In particular, expected instantaneous peak discharge rates/times found largely imbalanced with generated unit hydrographs. Moreover, significant gaps among floods’ for subbasins in terms required modifications (2–4 times larger mid-upstream, respectively) mainly associated unique karst structure initial condition due various ARCK rainy/dry seasons. Besides, notable dissimilarities between wedge/prism storage volumes hydrograph’s wave traveling/receding time observed owing geomorphological conditions. Although contribution rates drivers formation cannot be quantitively modeled, based on our results emerged play substantial role forecasted results, comparatively. Our suggest that since varies, taking it into account (as abstraction) more reliable estimation. This underpinned which unmodified simulations had qualified rate 52% accuracy average increased 67.5% after inclusion. work adds body evidence illustrating hydrology, ignoring situational circumstances modeling might lead inaccuracies forecasting such dynamic watersheds.

Investigating the Effect of Rainfall Spatial Distribution on Flood in Bakhtiari Dam Basin Using HEC-HMS

The disparate spatial and temporal distribution of rainfall in the country and climate variation sometimes leads to rivers flooding and large flood events, which are remarkable for life and financial losses. Flood control design requires accurate knowledge of the flood generator basin, especially smaller ones, in large basins. Determining the potential of flood generation to specify the...

development of nonlinear muskingum model and its compare with hec-ras model for flood routing in rivers

flood routing in rivers is a mathematical procedure to determine flow hydrograph at a point in a river. one of routing methods is based on solution of saint-venant equations for unsteady flows. because this method is very complex and need to more information of river, other methods with simple calculations and reasonably accurate results have been extended and give generally satisfactory result...

Comparative Study of HEC-HMS Rainfall-Runoff Model with Different Experimental Methods of Flood Estimation

The most important problem in estimating floods is the lack of sufficient statistics and consequently the lack of evaluation of the appropriate amount of flow. One of the flood estimation methods in these basins is the use of hydrological modeling. In this study, Shahbahram river flood modeling was performed with Nazmkan hydrometric station located in Kohkiluyeh Boyer-Ahmad province with HEC-HM...

River Flood Forecasting Using Complementary Muskingum Rating Equations

A model for real-time flood forecasting in river systems with large drainage areas has been developed. Flow variations between upstream and downstream stations are interlinked and are typically governed by reach properties. Unique paired variations establish useful flow correspondence resulting in inflow and outflow forecasting models for a reach. The proposed model can generate forecasts with ...
